MEET THE TEAM:

Kyra M. Gregory

Kyra M. Gregory, Owner of Palmetto State Lighting and Design, LLC., has over 21 years' experience as an expert in the Lighting Industry. Kyra is recognized as an award-winning certified Lighting Specialist, that currently holds multiple National Top Sales awards and received a Lighting Industry Dedication Award. Kyra is also a member of the LSA, Lighting Showroom Association. Kyra has a strong focus on builder and showroom sales, including showroom layout and design. She has an incredible work ethic, values premier customer service, an engaging personality. Kyra also has a commitment to excellence and is very competitive, in all she does.

During college, Kyra began her career in sales and marketing, customer relations, planning, and office management. In 2004, she began her lighting journey by joining Progress Lighting’s corporate team working with Sales and Marketing management teams.  During this time, Kyra received extensive industry leading lighting trainings and was mentored by the industry's finest. While obtaining a wealth of knowledge she worked directly with builders, electrical distributors, lighting showrooms both nationally and internationally.

In 2018, with the passion and love of Lighting, Kyra decided to open an independent Lighting Agency, Palmetto State Lighting and Designs, LLC.  Where she partnered with T and T Lighting Group, as a Southeastern Regional Accounts Manager and Team Manager, with a focus on the Southeast and managing South Carolina and North Carolina. Kyra was the founder of Carolina Administrative and Consulting Services and #4AGreatPaws (partnering with Mobile Meals of Spartanburg) She currently serves as a Notary Public in the State of South Carolina.

Kyra is an active Lighting Showroom Association member, American Lighting Association (ALA) member and serves on the ALA -Women in Lighting Mentorship Program Subcommittee board.

Kyra loves spending time with her family, including her husband Todd of 28 years, 2 loving children and their spouses and her 2 granddaughters. When she is not focusing on lighting, which is her passion, she enjoys spending time at the lake-boating, college football, fishing, traveling, camping, and hiking, and playing with her fur babies.

Danielle White

Danielle joined the Palmetto State Lighting Designs team in 2019 as our Inside Sales Associate and Brand Ambassador.

Danielle attended Spartanburg Community College, where she earned her Arrhythmia Monitoring Technician Degree. However, her heart desired to explore bigger avenues. Which lead her to become a Pharmacy Technician. During her 13 year Pharmacy Technician career, Danielle continued to reach high and exceed every goal that she set for herself. She was the lead Pharmacy Technician with each pharmacy where she was employed and loved helping her community through medicine. However, in early 2017, Danielle came to find out that the Pharmacy she loved was closing. She didn’t let that stop her. Danielle was eager to continue fulfilling her dreams.

 While pursuing her love of helping, she landed herself in a sales role and quickly realized this was the field she had longed for all along. Danielle held a leadership role in car sales. She was presented with several awards, such as highest sales for any month while in this role and still holds that title to this day.

 Even though she soared in car sales, her heart still wanted to explore what other opportunities where in the sales world. Which landed her with Palmetto State Lighting and Designs! Here, Danielle assists the outside sales reps and all clients for our territory. She is the cornerstone of support for our clients and outside sales reps.

 In her downtime, Danielle enjoys spending time with her husband, Donnie and their 4 children. They like to go camping, have family game night, a good laugh and spending time with close friends. Danielle’s captivating personality shines through all that she does.

Melissa Ellenburg

Melissa Ellenburg is our Eastern North Carolina sales representative.  She  is focused on building lasting and reputable relationships with builders, electrical contractors  and in-showroom sales. Throughout Melissa’s work career, she has earned many certifications, such as The Dale Carnegie Relationship Selling Award. Melissa has also excelled in several trainings throughout her career that has helped her become the Lighting Expert that she is.Melissa was born in Easley, SC and attended Southern Wesleyan University, where she graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.99 GPA. Melissa’s lighting career began in 2007 when she joined the team at Hubbell Lighting.  She served as the Rebate Coordinator, an Inside Sales Associate and a Demand Planner. During her 12 year journey with Hubbell Lighting, Melissa completed The Tom Black Sales Training course; The Joseph Rey-Barreau Sales Training course; The National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) Internship Program; and the Dale Carnegie Sales Training Course, She also took The Fundamentals of Lighting; The Language of Lighting and The Lighting Trends and New Technology at The Lighting Solutions Center at Hubbell Lighting in Greenville, SC. Melissa joined the T and T Lighting Group and Palmetto State Lighting and Designs, LLC in 2021 as the Regional Accounts Manager  for the Eastern North Carolina territory. When she is not growing business or building relationships in the lighting world or exploring her new home state of NC, Melissa enjoys traveling the US, going on adventurous trips with friends and visiting her daughter, Kaitlin, in California.

Lauren Cushing

Lauren Cushing joined Palmetto State Lighting in 2025, after 15 plus years of experience in the Lighting Industry.  Lauren is an active ALA member and an ALA Lighting Specialist.  She is also Certified Interior Lighting Designer from The New School in New York.  She will cover Mid-Lands and the Coastal areas in South Carolina.

Lauren is from Atlanta and is a Marketing Communications Major from The University of Mississippi.  After Graduating college in 2007, she moved to Delaware to be a Regional Sales Manager for Howard Ballasts.  After meeting her husband, they moved to Charleston in 2014.  Lauren has a daughter and dog who keep her busy when she is not visiting customers.

Leah F. Gregory

Leah is a hardworking and versatile Brand Ambassador and Administrative Assistant with proven organizational skills and thorough knowledge of accounts payable. Excellent communication and people skills with extensive strategic planning capabilities. She joined our team in 2020 as an Administrative Assistant to the owner of Palmetto State Lighting & Designs, LLC. Leah has a diverse background in accounts payable, sales, graphic designs, and marketing. She primarily assists with managing our social media and coordinating various meetings, events, and trainings. She also directs qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives and preforms various other administrative tasks.

Prior to her position with us at Palmetto State Lighting & Designs, LLC she attended Spartanburg Community College while also working as an Assistant Office Manager at a local construction company. As an Office Assistant Manager, she worked on accounts payable, kept inventory, payroll, and performed general administrative duties.

In addition to her role with Palmetto State Lighting & Designs, LLC, Leah is also a Lead Consultant with Scentsy. She creates graphics, does social media marketing and trainings for her team. She has a real passion for all home decor and creating core memories for families through the products she sales.

Leah loves spending time with her family, including her husband Spencer and their fur baby AJ. On her days off, she enjoys trying the new DIY projects, fishing, watching Christmas movies year-round and training with her service dog, AJ.
